Description

Select shop and brand Arts&Science owner Sonya Park directed the creation of this English-language Hobonichi Techo Planner, which has been refined and simplified to make it easy to use in all countries and languages. The refined layout, the colour scheme of charcoal grey and red, and the bonus pages exclusive to the Planner are part of its charm.

The book has a matte cover subtly foil-pressed with the Japanese characters for techo alongside the Arts&Science key logo. The spine is foil-pressed in gold with the year 2027 and the HOBO logo, for easy reference when it sits on a bookshelf alongside other books.

Like a dictionary, this techo is made with thread-stitched binding. This allows it to open flat at 180 degrees, making it easy to write in — no need to hold the pages down.

The pages are made of thin and light yet durable Tomoe River paper that holds ink well, providing a smooth writing experience.

The back of the techo contains bonus pages, including standard favourites such as International Size Charts, The Ultimate Packing List and My 100, as well as new additions like The Japanese Sando - Sandwiches for Every Occasion, Hard-to-Translate Japanese Words, and Hobonichi's Neighborhood: Kanda/Jinbo-cho Map.

The Hobonichi Techo is designed to be used with a cover. Alongside covers created in collaboration with Arts&Science, we offer a wide range of dedicated techo covers — explore the different colours, materials and designs to find your perfect match.

Beauty Meets Function

  • Directed by Arts&Science: Sonya Park's editing shows in everything left out. The layout is quiet, the charcoal grey and red restrained, and nothing on the page competes with your handwriting.
  • All English, all the way through: Every page, prompt and bonus section reads in English, so you never have to guess at a heading.
  • A spine you can find on a shelf: Gold foil on the spine and a soft matte cover mean it always looks at home between books rather than hidden among them.
