Clutch Pencils
Clutch pencils: the brawnier, broodier cousin of the mechanical pencil. While both fall under the broad “mechanical” umbrella, clutch pencils grip a thicker lead (typically 2mm and up) in their jaws — ready for sketching, shading or the odd architectural flourish.
Unlike their click-happy relatives, clutch pencils don’t feed the lead forward as you write. Instead, you release just the amount you need, like a rather satisfying stationery sword-draw. They’re beloved by artists, designers, and anyone who prefers a pencil with a bit more presence in the hand.
If mechanical pencils are for note-takers, clutch pencils are for mark-makers.
