Hobonichi Techo 2024 Japanese Cousin Book A5 [April Start]

£42.00

The Hobonichi Techo Cousin is an A5 size planner with one page per day. This is the April-start version with pages spanning from April 2024 up to March 2025.

  • Plenty of room to write
  • Weekly pages only included in the Cousin!
  • Pair it with your favourite cover
  • Weekly pages spanning April 1st 2024 - April 6th 2025
  • The largest planner in the Hobonichi Techo lineup: 148 mm x 210 mm

Not only is it useful for writing down your plans for the day, jotting down memos, doodling, pasting event tickets or photos, the spacious Cousin is easy to use as a techo to write down everything work-related, as a family notebook, tracking the growth of children and pasting in pictures to create a family album or sharing pages among family members. It’s also frequently used as a planner that is always kept on a desktop or table rather than carrying around.

The Cousin is the largest planner in the Hobonichi Techo lineup. At 148 mm x 210 mm (5.8" x 8.3"), the A5 size is twice the size of its A6 Original counterpart, so there’s plenty of room to use the Cousin for both business and pleasure.

After years of testing, the graph paper has been set to 3.7 mm for optimal writing comfort. The graph paper design allows users to write from any starting point on the page, and the lines have been printed in light colours so users can either customise it to their own layout or ignore it completely.

The Hobonichi Techo includes quotes specially chosen from its parent site, the Japanese web magazine Hobo Nikkan Itoi Shinbun. Each daily page has a quote in Japanese.

The Cousin also has an exclusive section: the popular weekly pages track a week in each two-page spread for easy planning and contain a handy time schedule.

The book has the same thread-stitch binding as a dictionary, allowing it to lay flat open for comfortable writing. It stays flat even if you don’t hold it down.

The book uses thin and light yet durable Tomoe River S paper. The paper has supported the Hobonichi Techo for over 20 years with its special characteristics, but it’ll be undergoing an overhaul starting with the 2024 edition techos. The paper is more resistant to bleed through, lighter despite being the same thickness, and has a smoother surface by adjusting the fibres of the paper.

Other than the daily pages with lots of space to write, the book contains several sections that are great for schedule management, such as a yearly calendar, monthly calendar, and yearly index page. The back of the book has bonus pages, including An Interview with Myself, Seasonal Sweets to Make at Home, and Caring for Your Eyes.

The Hobonichi Techo is used by pairing a techo book with a cover. Pick out a cover of your choice from our selection of convenient A5 size Hobonichi Techo covers.
