Kokuyo GLOO Square Glue Stick

Kokuyo GLOO is a square glue stick with a twist - quite literally, you twist it to use it! But more than that, the look and feel of the product has been thoughtfully designed by Nendo, a Japanese design firm who worked to create a range of minimal and effective adhesive products for Kokuyo, called GLOO.

"In GLOO, Nendo reworks the typically excessive appearance of stationery packaging in a series of uniform adhesive products complete with a matte white finish and subtle, non-distracting information printed on them. developed for japanese stationery company KOKUYO, the project seeks to unify various products such as glues and tapes which have been produced under different brands.

GLOO is more than just practicality, it's also about looks and when it comes to good looking stationery, we're most definitely here for it.

But the practicalities do matter, so what are some great features of the GLOO sticks? Well, GLOO has been cleverly designed so that it doesn't roll off surfaces unlike traditional tubes of glue and thanks to its square shape, it's also very effective when glueing around edges of paper or envelopes.

The cap is purposefully made to be curved and circular to stop the glue stick from drying out. It's also designed to be opened one handed, freeing your other hand to hold down any bits you might be glueing together.

To use the GLOO stick, simply twist the bottom of the stick to distribute the glue.

When you're done pasting, place the GLOO stick cap-side down and you can easily click the body onto the cap, one-handed.

So what's the difference between the three types of GLOO stick?

Disappearing Blue is designed to show up blue on paper so that it helps you to see where you're placing the glue. This is ideal for more precise craft work. After a few seconds, the glue begins to dry clear and the blue colour disappears.

Wrinkle Free
is a low water formula glue, which aids in preventing the wrinkling effect on paper that you typically see with wetter glue sticks. If you're glueing cuttings or anything that you'd like to stick down in a pristine condition without affecting the paper onto which you're placing it, then this is the glue for you. Think pasting cuttings out in your planner - you'll want to keep that looking fresh without wrinkling as it dries!

Grey doesn't have any quirky tricks up its sleeve - like disappearing colours or wrinkle free formulas - but what it does have going for it, is its good looks and a very strong adhesive that certainly won't disappoint.
