Description

Moomin was created in 1945 by Tove Jansson, Finland's beloved author, painter, and artist. This year, the world of those stories has once again been brought to life as a Weeks techo.

The illustration on the front cover is taken from the novel Moominsummer Madness. It depicts the scene where Emma the stage rat appears before the Moomin family, Misabel, Toft, and the others, who are gathered around the dinner table. On the back cover, Little My sits inside a sewing basket.

The artwork is rendered in greige lines on a pale pink background, with a soft purple spine that gives the whole design an elegant finish.

The year 2027 is foil-pressed in silver in a typeface that evokes the shape of Moomin's tail. Wrapped in a cover made of material with a rough, canvas-like texture, the techo is designed to feel like a light hardcover with some give to it so it still bends.

The Hobonichi Techo Weeks comes with a clear, adhesive corner pocket you can stick anywhere you like.

The pages are made of thin and light yet durable Tomoe River paper that holds ink well, providing a smooth writing experience.

In addition to the monthly calendars and weekly pages, there are also plenty of grid-lined memo pages.

The back of the book contains bonus pages, including standard favourites like My 100 and the 365 Days Check-Off Sheet, as well as new additions like Phrases to Break That Writer's Block and the Hobonichi's Neighborhood: Kanda/Jinbo-cho Map, among others.

If you'd like to customise the look of your Weeks or add space to store accessories, you can pair it with a Weeks cover.

We hope you enjoy a wonderful year in the company of these enchanting illustrations of Moomin.

Tove Jansson (1914-2001) was a Finnish-Swedish writer and artist, who achieved worldwide fame as the creator of the stories about the Moomins, written and illustrated between 1945 and 1977. The Moomin family and their friends live an adventurous life in the idyllic and peaceful Moominvalley in harmony with nature. They are a family of white and roundish trolls with large snouts.

Why You'll Love It

  • A dinner party on your desk: You get Tove Jansson's Moominsummer Madness table scene drawn in greige lines on a soft, powdery pink, with a gentle violet spine holding the whole thing together.
  • Canvas you can feel: The cover is wrapped in a rough, canvas-like material that gives a little under your thumb, so it never feels like a stiff board in your bag.
  • All year, wallet-sized: A week lies horizontally across the left page while blank graph paper waits on the right, and the stitched binding always opens flat at 180 degrees.
