Makers Cabinet

Makers Cabinet make tools for people who would rather enjoy the process than rush through it. Founded in London, they take the ordinary business of drawing a circle, sharpening a pencil or measuring a line, and quietly reconsider it — usually in solid brass, occasionally in walnut, always with a mechanism that rewards handling.

The Iris opens like an aperture to draw any circle you like. The Høvel shaves a pencil to precisely the point you want, rather than the one a plastic sharpener insists upon. The Stria folds with a hinge that clicks agreeably at forty-five degrees. None of it is strictly necessary, and all of it is rather difficult to put down.

Everything here is built to be kept, patinated and passed on — including the Italian leather sheaths made to carry each piece safely about.
