Description

The Hobonichi Techo uses 12 soft colours across the book. The TSUKI no IRO stationery series incorporates these colours into simple designs.

The Frost Rollerball Pen is a special collaboration made with Kakimori, a stationery shop that crafts fountain pens, inks, notebooks and more, all created for people who write with joy.

Frost is an original Kakimori pen featuring a translucent body with the texture of frosted glass. It is thoughtfully designed so that even the faintly visible ink and nib become part of the pen's overall design.

The pen features an easy-to-open screw-on cap and a grip section made as long as possible to keep your fingers off the ridges while writing. Every detail has been refined to eliminate unnecessary elements, while still conveying a sense of both modernity and charm.

For this collaboration, we have kept all the beauty and ease of writing that Frost is known for, while giving the body a khaki grey colour exclusive to the Hobonichi Techo, with the TSUKI no IRO logo added in silver. The translucent material means you can enjoy watching how the pen changes in appearance once it is filled with ink.

This is the rollerball version, a ballpoint-style nib for everyday use. The Frost Fountain Pen is a separate item, sold on its own.

The pen uses a converter system, meaning you draw in ink yourself. Ink is not included, and we recommend pairing the pen with the TSUKI no IRO pigment ink or the mini ink bottle sets, each sold separately.

Beauty Meets Function

  • Frosted glass, without the weight: The polycarbonate barrel has the soft, faintly grainy touch of frosted glass, and the ink inside shows through as a quiet blur rather than a stripe. There is no showing off about it at all.
  • A grip that stays out of your way: The grip section runs unusually long, so your fingers never land on the cap threads however far down the barrel you like to hold a pen.
  • A khaki grey made for one book: The body wears a muted olive-grey created for the Hobonichi Techo alone, with the TSUKI no IRO logo in soft silver, and because it fills from a converter you always choose the ink yourself.
