Description

The Blackwing Natural keeps nothing hidden. Its incense-cedar barrel is left bare beneath a clear matte finish, so you see the grain of the wood the pencil is made from. Inside is extra-firm graphite, the firmest in the core Blackwing range, made for fine, precise lines and for writers who would rather sharpen as seldom as possible.

Unpainted wood feels warmer and a little more textured than lacquer, and the pencil settles comfortably into the hand. A gold ferrule holds a grey eraser. The line is lighter and crisper than the rest of the core range, which suits technical drawing, small handwriting and left-handed writers, since it is far less inclined to smudge. Restraint, in a pencil, turns out to be its own kind of luxury.

Why You'll Love It

  • Fewer Trips to the Sharpener: You fill page after page before the point softens, which makes it the obvious choice for long writing sessions.
  • Lines That Stay Sharp: Your small handwriting and fine detail stay crisp and legible, never fuzzing at the edges.
  • Cleaner Pages: You soon notice that your hand no longer drags a grey smear across the page behind it.
