The Texture Series represents Yamamoto Paper’s careful exploration of wax coating as a way to enhance the natural qualities of paper. Embossed patterns are formed using engraved press rolls, then paired with precisely colour-controlled raw materials. After waxing, the tones become richer, and variations in transparency emerge depending on how much wax the paper absorbs. The result is a cover that feels layered, tactile, and considered.
Tonoko traditionally refers to a soft, earthy yellow-brown derived from natural clay powders used in Japanese crafts and finishes. Calm and mineral in tone, it has a grounded quality that feels warm without becoming decorative.
