Hobonichi 2024 HON A5 Planner [Bow & Tie: Tiny Dragons] English
What is the Hobonichi HON?
The Hobonichi Techo HON has a hardcover design already attached to the book. It’s designed to make you feel like you’re carrying around a favourite book, which you can pull out at any time to make notes no matter where you are. The book has A5 size pages with plenty of space to write and paste, and features a page per day, so the contents are the same as the Hobonichi Techo Cousin.
Tiny Dragons
The Tiny Dragons design uses the same fabric as the Bow & Tie series for the Weeks, which features textured, shiny fabric used in neckties. The gloss and soft touch of the material makes this series stand out.
Green seahorses are lined up on a navy background for this design. The charming seahorses that swim in the ocean have been created in detail through the weaves of the necktie material.
We chose seahorses as a motif for this design as the year 2024 is the Year of the Dragon, and in Japan, the name 'seahorse' literally translates to 'Child of a Dragon'. Seahorses are known as a symbol of family happiness coming from their unique trait that the father gives birth. Among the seahorses you'll find those that are swimming by a coral or swimming as a family.
The book spine is foil-pressed in silver with the year 2024 and the HON logo for easy reference when placed in your bookshelf alongside other books.
The bookbinding on the HON has thread-stitch binding similar to the Hobonichi Techo Cousin, so it opens 180 degrees onto the table. It stays flat even if you don’t hold it down.
The book uses thin and light yet durable Tomoe River S paper. The paper has supported the Hobonichi Techo for over 20 years with its special characteristics, but it’ll be undergoing an overhaul starting with the 2024 edition techos. The paper is more resistant to bleed through, lighter despite being almost the same thickness, and has a crisper surface by adjusting the fibres of the paper.
The back of the book has informational pages, including An Interview with Myself, Seasonal Sweets to Make at Home, and Caring for Your Eyes.
As a special exclusive only for the HON, this techo comes with a pencil board. The board is A5 size and clear, with 5mm grid lines printed across it. There are measurements printed along one side in 1mm increments, which allow for use as a ruler. This is also a new type of pencil board, as it has a pen holder attached to it where users can store pens by their clips.
Please note: the Hobonichi Techo HON comes in either Japanese or English. This edition is the English language planner.
