What is the Day-Free Book?

The Day-Free is a monthly notebook techo made up of monthly calendars and graph-paper pages, with a total of 240 pages in the book. There are 171 undated pages to fill in any way you like. It comes in two sizes: the A6 Original and the A5 Cousin (this listing is for the A6 Original). The thickness and weight are approximately half of their Original and Cousin counterparts. The bottom-right corner features a flip-book comic by 100% ORANGE titled 'One Pencil'. The Day-Free books can fit covers made for the Original and Cousin, but there are also covers made specially for the Day-Free.

Specifics of the A6 Day-Free Book

  1. The Day-Free combines a monthly calendar with a graph paper notebook. The monthly calendar is the same calendar you’ll find in the standard Original book, designed with graph paper to make it easy to use. Special stitch-binding allows the planner to lay completely flat without having to hold it down.

  2. Flip-book illustrations
The illustrations that are on the bottom right of the two-page spread change every year, and this year it’s a flip book comic drawn by 100%ORANGE. The illustrations that change their expressions slightly on each page will bring a smile to your face as you flip through the pages.

  3. Undated pages
The blank graph paper notebook contains a total of 171 undated pages and is comprised of 3.7 mm squares. You can fill in as much as you want at a time without feeling constricted to dates. Keep a journal, draw a picture or graph, paste in ticket stubs, scribble on the pages, and fill the pages with capricious whims or meticulous plans — it’s all up to you.

    Size
  4. Measuring approximately 10.5cm x 14.8cm, the Day-Free Original Size is an A6 size monthly techo that was introduced in the 2020 edition lineup. It’s split into two main parts: monthly calendars and a graph-paper notebook. The book fits nicely into covers designed for the standard Hobonichi Techo Original. Because the book is half the size of the full-year Original, it’s also light and portable.
