Much loved Japanese brand Mind Wave is exclusively available at The Journal Shop. The Joint Stamp range is a hark back to good old school days - remember those rainbow crayon pencils we all used and loved? Well now you can own a little bit of nostalgia in the form of a stamp pen. Each Joint Stamp pen is an ideal size measuring 10cm long (including the cap) and only 1.6cm wide making it a nifty size to carry around, or even clip on to the pages of your planner. We're tried and tested the little stamp in our Hobonichi and aside from being fun to use - it's a stamp pen, what's not to love?! - it's actually really handy. The designs in the stamp are useful too, they're not just cute. You can use them as keys to highlight events, important dates or scheduled 'to-dos'. The pen caps have a little clip and each stamp design is a different colour - you'll know what colour ink you're stamping by looking at the little icon on the body of the Joint Stamp pen.

What's a pre-inked stamp and is it refillable?

A pre-inked stamp is a nifty and self-contained way of stamping your planner pages. Pre-inked stamps have the ink molded into the design and contain an interior pad which holds a sufficient amount of ink to last for many impressions. Once your ink starts to look a little feint or run dry (you might accidentally keep the cap off, mistakes happen!) you can easily re-ink your stamp by holding the stamp upside down so the design faces upwards. Then, gently squeeze a few drops of your favourite ink colour just around the sides of the design - you can see the little ink pad if you hold the stamp at an angle - and then, wait at least 10-15 minutes for the ink pad to soak it all up. Try stamping your design and see how it looks. If it's still too feint, add a little more ink so the design is crisp and in focus. Be careful to use ink which is suitable for stamps / stamp pads - other inks might cause damage to the ink pad and run if too watery.
