Made from smooth soft Italian bonded leather, the CIAK's cover is firm yet flexible, which makes it an excellent alternative to a hardback cover. The use of bonded leather also makes CIAK notebooks very durable - ideal for everyday use.
Archival Quality, Acid Free Paper
There are 140 pages of permanently bound, college ruled cream paper that is perfect for fountain pen ink as well as ballpoints. The paper is archival quality and acid free and takes ink with no feathering or showthrough.
A Unique Leather Notebook

Handmade in Florence, Italy, the CIAK notebook is a leather journal with a difference. CIAK features a patent protected horizontal elastic band, one major advantage of which is that a pen can be securely fastened to the notebook without fear of loss or damage. We've tried this with a variety of pens of different sizes ranging from a Pilot G2 to a Mont Blanc and the CIAK secured each one perfectly.
This is something that is simply impossible with any other notebook, due to their conventional vertical elastic bands. A quick look at the various Moleskine hacks on the Internet demonstrates the usefulness and value of having a pen attached to the notebook in this way.
