Finished in an attractive shiny red resin, this Caran d'Ache Dunas fountain pen has a smooth writing polished steel medium sized nib. The Dunas fountain pen's trim is chromium plated trims and the Caran d'Ache heritage is made visible both on the ring and with the 'CdA' logo on the end of the pen's cap.

Caran d'Ache was founded in 1924 in Geneva and remains Switzerland's only manufacturer of pencils, fine arts products and writing instruments. The name Caran d'Ache has been chosen by the company's founder, Arnold Schweitzer, who admired the work of a famous French caricaturist (born in Moscow) called Emmanuel Poiré. Poiré signed his work "Caran d'Ache", the French transliteration of the Russian word for pencil "karandash". In 1929, Caran d'Ache launched the world's first all-metal mechanical clutch pencil, the Fixpencil.
